After some fun with Magmaw and a flawless Omnitron kill, we had plenty of time left to look at a new target so we set about The Conclave of Wind.
After some early mishaps, we started to get into the groove and every attempt was met with signifcant improvement. It was no surprise to get a kill at the end of the night. Now if only the Alliance could hold onto Tol Barad for 5 minutes, we might be able to get back into farm Argaloth...

Ok raiding really under way in earnest now and unlike half the server our progress is purely as a 25 man guild and not padded out with 10-man kills. We're one of very few guilds actually progressing as a 25 man guild and that's something we can reflect on positively. 4 down now (5 if you want to count Argaloth) and plenty more to come. Well done all and keep up the good stuff.

Welcome back to raiding folks. Last night was our first raid for a fair while and we did fairly well for a first time out. Was good to get back to it. Bastion of Twilight was our first target and first up was Halfus Wyrmbreaker bit the dust. Took us a couple of goes to get the strat right for that specific setup, but encouraging was the tangible improvement in every one.

We managed to catch Julak-Doom in Twilight Highland, a rare elite down.
While not an instanced boss, it took us 10man raid, 2 evade resets and 15 minutes to kill it.
Nice training for the instanced raids ahead.

Having just finished our first Christmas Quiz event (it's fair to say it's likely to be repeated) I wanted to wish everyone a Merry Christmas.

In terms of the event, congratulations to Orty (above) for winning the Desk Decoration Extravaganza - Enjoy your well deserved chopper mate.

For the quiz itself, in a respectable 3rd, applause and kudos go to Ganthorm with a score of 74/90. In 2nd place, with a mighty fine 75/90, accolades and respect are due to Thibbledorf.

In 1st place, to rapturous cheers and also a not inordinate amount of "maintain eye contact and back away slowly", with an incredible 81/90 this year's outright winner is Nymo.

Another guild aim achieved recently, we completed the 10-man meta achivement in ICC. Congratulaions to Thibbledorf and Boleuge, our sturdy tanks who are the first 2 people to get their drakes, and thanks to the whole guild who have helped with the various hard mode kills and achievements.

We have a load of people with only 1-2 achievements for their drakes, and the aim for the coming weeks will be to complete these

Ok, so the screenshot may be a bit rubbish, but the achivement is not, last night we finally completed the guilds second legendary, congratulations to Eräjorma who is the proud owner of Shadowmourne. It's taken us a while, especially given that we havent had a full 25 people in a raid for quite a few weeks now, but thanks to the determination and commitment of all the guild members, who turned out week after week to do easy farm bosses with low numbers, we finally hit the required number of shards, well done to every guild member who made it happen
We also owe a part of the thanks to several out of guild friends that have joined in our recent runs and helped us do it

That completes one of the targets the guild has before catacylsm, next up will hopefully be more 25 man LK kills, and the 10-man drake...watch this space for more updates

Well, what to say. After the most hideous raid in terms of DC's and individual and collective errors on Tuesday, we turned it on it's head from the get-go. From the start there was a marked improvement and even though it took us a while, the rhythm that was missing on the last raid night was back and evident. We scraped into Phase 5 a couple of times but the attempt was usually beyond us at that point until the last go when we went in with everyone still kicking. Ranged did a fantastic job, Melee DPS were vigilant, the healers prodigious and the two tanks steadfast. Never been so thrilled to see everyone die as I did at the 10% point.

Congratulations to the token winners and to Dave and Prizcilla who each received Archus, Greatstaff of Antonidas.

Following success there we decided, with little better to do, that we would backfill some missing kills. Heroic Northrend Beasts and Jarraxxus fell as they have before before we moved onto my most detested fight in the game - Faction Champions!
After the first go, it felt different. We wiped but it wasn't all out carnage. The control was much better than it had been before and it just required some jiggery-pokery. We had a couple more goes and then they fell. People controlled, people DPS'd and most importantly - Dave ran!
I'm not sure whether to be proud or disappointed at the lack of Forest Gump jokes but Dave ran around like never before, a perpetual target for the melee FC train but a perpetual target that never stopped running!

More backfilling for the rest of this week and then next week, Hard Modes commence.
